Holidays don't need to be a distraction in the classroom! Instead, let them be a vehicle to introducing new things!
For example, use my Valentine's Day Debate Activity to introduce two debate topics: Chocolates vs. Conversation Hearts and "Should we celebrate Valentine's Day in schools?"
You have the option to pick a more lighthearted topic or to pick a heavier topic that will get your students thinking!
Debate is such a great way to get your students to see two sides of an issue. Use this to get your students up and talking for your speaking and listening standards!
Just divide up the students how you want, hand them each their packet, and let them start preparing the debate!
